CALCUL DES STRUCTURES FISSUREES BASES SUR LA TECHNIQUE DES FONCTIONS DE NIVEAUX ET LA METHODE DES ELEMENTS FINIS ETENDUS
Amir Sakhraoui, Fayza Ayari, Hassen Kharroubi
Abstract: This paper is concerned with the development of test cases for verification and validation of the extended finite element method in the framework of damage-tolerant approaches for cracked isotropic shell with elastic linear material. These test cases are representative of problems encountered in the aerospace, automotive, petroleum and agriculture sectors. A numerical modeling of the bulging factor is conceived using pressurized isotropic shell including a longitudinal crack. Indeed, a crack that propagates in a thin plate or pressurized shell is characterized by a lateral displacement combined to a in-plane displacement. The bulging factor is identified as a ratio between the stress intensity factor KI in the shell curved configuration and KI for a flat configuration plate.
Keywords: Extended finite element method, level sets technique, stress intensity factor, bulge factor.
