MINIATURIZATION OF SINGLE LAYER U-SLOT MICROSTRIP PATCH ANTENNA

Abstract: A microstrip patch antenna, in its simplest form consists of a radiating patch on one side of a dielectric substrate and a ground plane on the other side. Typically a patch antenna has low profile, low cost and reduced weight. Here Ushaped antenna is implemented on FR4 substrate. Rectangular shaped ground plane is used. The simulated result is verified experimentally. The proposed antenna is simple in structure. It is highly preferable in wireless communication. This antenna is designed for 3.6 GHz frequency which lies in UWB range. The antenna size has been reduced to25X20 mm.
