Abstract: In the present era, social media plays a key role in the society. The widespread use of Information and Communication technology redefined the way people think and work. Every walk of life has been enhanced by ICT. In countries like India, where agriculture is the main occupation of the mass, it is of great concern whether ICT and social media has gone into the mass, thereby improving their life. In this paper, we present a study of social media as a tool for farmers. The application of social media in agriculture, the technology acceptance by farmers and major scope and challenges are discussed with special emphasis given to the scenario in India in general and Kerala in particular.
