GROUND WATER QUALITY OF SHELGI NALA BASIN, SOLAPUR, MAHARASHTRA

Abstract: In this present work various physico-chemical parameters were analyzed to determine the characteristics of groundwater quality in Shelgi nala basin, Solapur. Water samples were collected from 48 locations from bore wells and dug wells for the purpose of assessment of quality of groundwater during the year 2009. The locations from which the water samples were collected are extensively used for drinking and agricultural purpose. It has been proved from the present investigation that values of few parameters fall out of the permissible limit with reference to WHO standard values. Hence, suggested to take proper care to improve groundwater quality of the Shelgi nala basin
