Abstract: Productivity Improvement is one of the most important factors for an organization to survive in this growing competition. Globalization has given rise to new standards for products and the demands of the customers have to be met keeping the appropriate standards for quality, variety and other factors that have become mandatory for the organization to have an edge over the others. A literature review has hence been carried on the importance of productivity improvement in an organization, the various methods adopted for the purpose of the improvement. The various methods have been discussed in detail with their outcomes on the productivity of various organizations
