CONCEPTUAL DESIGN OF LASER ASSISTED FIXTURE FOR BENDING OPERATION

Abstract: Laser forming process is used in forming and bending of metallic and non metallic sheets. Laser beam irradiation causes a localized temperature increase and a localized mechanical strength decreases. In this article an external force has assisted laser to gain 90° bending angle. The conceptual design of the fixture for bending thin metal sheets is designed with the help of Solid Works software to generate 3D model. Also the calculations are computed for the fixtures.
